Award-Winning Golf Course Design
Lohmann Golf Designs, Inc. was founded in 1984 in suburban Chicago by golf course architect Bob Lohmann. He envisioned a full-service golf course design firm committed to excellence and customer service that exceeds expectations. In this regard, Lohmann exceeded his own expectations. Over the course of 24 years, LGD’s golf course architects have built up a portfolio of original golf course designs and course renovations that routinely rank among the nation’s finest according to leading golf magazines, satisfied clients and golfers themselves. For example:

Golf Course Architects of New and Old
Lohmann Golf Designs is equally skilled in the art of course renovation. Following a complete refurbishment of the venerable Midlothian Country Club in Chicago, site of the 1914 U.S. Open, the course received recognition from Golf Inc. Magazine as a Renovation of the Year Honoree. But some of our best work takes place quietly, with little fanfare, at clubs and courses that don’t want splash, only the benefits of expert golf course architecture services. We have deliberately remained a small firm that takes on only the projects we can personally oversee and craft to our exacting standards.

Beyond Design Services
Since its inception, LGD’s total service concept has grown beyond the bounds of golf course architecture to include construction management services and agronomic/environmental consultation. We take care of all the details for our clients from initial conceptual design through to construction documents and project management—in other words, beginning to end.

Putting You in the “Driver” Seat
We feel strongly that we can only execute this sort of comprehensive approach by listening closely to you, our client. It’s this personal contact, this capacity to listen and take our cues from you rather than exert our own biases and egos that sets LGD apart from the vast majority of golf course architects working today.
