Effingham Country Club
Effingham, Illinois LGD prepared an Asset Management Plan for this 18-hole private club in 2011 and immediately began implementing the changes along with sister construction firm, Golf Creations, following the plan’s approval. The initial phase of construction on holes 9, 10, 11 and 15, included tree removal to widen corridors for playability, recontouring of greens for more pin space, and adjustment of bunkers to improve strategic layout. The high praise received for the improvements prompted the club to remodel their 2nd hole the following year, adding a new green complex and water feature, complete with boulder retaining wall, on this short par 3 to challenge golfers from several angles. The LC design-build team looks forward to implementing many more AMP upgrades at ECC in the years to come.
