Naperville, IL  This 27-hole club currently maintains over 160,000 sq. ft. of sand across its 80 bunkers. The immense, flash-sand areas require continual clean-up from storm and wind erosion, resulting in major labor costs and inconsistent playing conditions.  In 2015, LGD prepared remediation plans for the club that include the reconstruction and relocation of the bunkers, keeping the same quantity (80) while reducing the sand footprint to 80,000 sq. ft. The bunkers will also be restyled and equipped with aggregate liners to hold the new sand, allowing for less day to day maintenance, while virtually eliminating storm clean-up. The club anticipates reduction of annual sand maintenance costs by 15 – 20%, and a payback on the liner in the first 5-6 years.  Construction is currently scheduled for the 2016 season.
