Midland, Michigan (Great Lakes Loons) The Michigan Baseball Foundation was formed by community leaders in Midland, MI to bring minor league baseball to their region. From the start, the Midland project was ambitious, allowing just 12 months to build a stadium complex normally constructed in 18 months. Working alongside the furiously-paced stadium construction, LSF finished laying the final 110,000 square feet of Kentucky Bluegrass in late October, right on schedule. The Great Lakes Loons took to their brand new field in front of a packed stadium for their home opener. Despite cold weather and snow in the outfield earlier in the day, by game time the field was in remarkable condition.
